Abstract:
To provide aircraft landing, and more specifically, an apparatus and method for determining a runway exit for landing an aircraft.SOLUTION: An apparatus is provided which determines (301) a plurality of runway exits reachable by an aircraft, and applied braking force in landing at each of the runway exits. The apparatus also predicts (302) the taxi-in time of the aircraft in landing at each of the runway exits. The apparatus also predicts (303) maintenance costs of the aircraft in landing at each of the runway exits based on the applied braking force, and predicts (304) the overall cost of the aircraft in landing at each of the runway exits based on the taxi-in time and the maintenance cost. The apparatus further determines (305), among the runway exits, the runway exit having a minimal of the overall costs, and presents a recommended runway exit candidate for landing the aircraft to a user.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
