Abstract:
To improve accuracy of detecting commodities.SOLUTION: A commodity detector 50, which includes a plurality of light emitting elements 51 provided so as to face a commodity detection area, and a plurality of light receiving elements 52 provided so as to face the corresponding light emitting elements 51, irradiates light from the light emitting elements 51 toward the light receiving elements 52 so as to pass through a commodity detection area to detect whether or not a commodity is present based on the state of light incident on the light receiving elements 52. The plurality of light emitting elements 51 alternately irradiate light according to predetermined conditions. Preferably, the plurality of light emitting elements 51 alternately irradiate light in pairs according to the predetermined conditions. Preferably, the commodity detection area is configured on a commodity mounting surface 41a of a transport tray 41 when the transport tray 41, which is movable in the vertical direction and transports the commodity to be placed, has moved to a commodity take-out position 43 allowing the commodity to be taken out.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
