Abstract:
To provide a hydrodesulfurization method for treating heavy oil having high residual carbon content and high density with an indirect desulfurization apparatus.SOLUTION: The hydrodesulfurization method comprises: a mixed oil preparation step of mixing a first hydrocarbon oil and a second hydrocarbon oil so as to set a volume ratio of a mixture of the first hydrocarbon oil and the second hydrocarbon oil (the first hydrocarbon oil: the second hydrocarbon oil) from 0.5:99.5 to 10:90 for obtaining a mixed oil; and a hydrodesulfurization step for hydrodesulfurizing the mixed oil, wherein the first hydrocarbon oil has density of 0.93 to 1.10 g/cm3 at 15°C, sulfur content of 2.7 to 5.1 mass%, and residual carbon content of 4.5 to 13 mass%, and the second hydrocarbon oil has the density of 0.87 to 0.95 g/cm3 at 15°C, the sulfur content of 1.0 to 3.5 mass%, and the residual carbon content of 0 to 2.0 mass%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
