To provide an optical system which can remain compact even when a view angle is increased and offers good optical performance, and to provide an optical device having the same.SOLUTION: An optical system provided herein is for ocular use and comprises a first lens group G1 having positive refractive power and a second lens group G2 arranged in order from the eyepiece side, the second lens group G2 comprising a lens having a concave surface on the eyepiece side.
