Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten the connection control time by rejecting the connection of a call with a connection request newly when the calculated quantity exceeds a threshold level. CONSTITUTION:When sets of maximum values and mean values of cell transmission speed applied by N-1 (a positive integer) of calls connected already are respectively (MAX1, AVE1), (MAX2, AVE2)-(MAXN-1, AVEN-1) and a set of maximum and mean values of cell transmission speed applied by a call giving a new connection request is (MAXN, AVEN), and when the quantity of calculation required for substituting a positive root s* of equation I with respect to (s) of equation II exceeds a predetermined threshold level, the connection of the new call giving the connection request is rejected. Thus, the quantity of the calculation in this approximate calculation method is proportional to N and the connection control time is shortened.
