Title:
RECORDER/REPRODUCER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2541514
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To facilitate searching by relatively transferring a recording medium and a reproducing head to an area in which an address signal exists by transfer means when the signal does not exist during the erasing period of an identification signal.
CONSTITUTION: The recorder/reproducer comprises detecting means 26 for detecting the head address of an identification signal, and transfer means 32, 35 for relatively transferring a magnetic tape 14 and a reproducing head during a period until the address of the signal is detected by the means 26. The recorder/-reproducer also comprises memory means (system controller) 26 for storing the address of the signal detected by the means 26, and identification signal erasing means 11A, 11B for erasing the signal for a predetermined period based on the address of the signal stored in the means 26. If the signal does not exist during the erasing period of the signal, the means 11A, 11B relatively transfers the tape 14 and the head to the region in which the signal exists.
