Abstract:
PURPOSE:To maintain the prescribed concn. of Al ions in a treating soln. so that the quality of surface treatment is made high and uniform when the surface treatment of an Al substrate for a printing plate is carried out with sodium hydroxide and to reutilize Al sludge discharged in large quantities from the surface treating process as industrially effective Al sludge having enhanced quality by reducing the amt. of impurities incorporated in the discharged Al sludge. CONSTITUTION:A part of a treating soln. contg. a sodium aluminate soln. is mixed with Al sludge discharged from a surface treating process to prepare a supersatd. sodium aluminate soln., insoluble components are removed through a filter and aluminum hydroxide is rapidly crystallized. High-quality Al sludge is obtd. and a sodium hydroxide soln. is recovered and returned to a soln. preparing tank so as to maintain the prescribed concn. of Al ions in the treating soln.
