Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently execute translation processing within a short time by collectively registering unknown words existing in an original to a dictionary. CONSTITUTION:When an unknown word retrieving request is inputted after storing an original to be translated in an original storing part 3, all unknown words not registered in a translation dictionary part 5 are retrieved from the original stored in the storing part 3. The list of the retrieved unknown words is checked by a display screen, and when attribution information such as an equivalent corresponding to each unknown word or a part of speech is inputted on based on the list, respective equivalents are collectively registered by a dictionary registering part 11 as new words correspondingly to the original words. After ending the collective registration of the new words, the machine translator can be allowed to smoothly translate the already inputted original, so that the efficiency of the translation processing including the dictionary registration can be sharply improved.
