Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the multipulse generation of a light parametric oscillator using a semiconductor laser exciting solid laser having a Q switch, while securing the maximum output. SOLUTION: A pulse width modulating circuit 24 in the same frequency as that of a rectangular wave forming circuit 10 makes pulse columns in the pulse width proportional to the output of an addition circuit 26. The initial value of the opening time of a Q switch 5 is set up by output adjusting the DC bias circuit 17. Since the laser output has the unimodal characteristics of maximizing the mean the output and the pulse peak value at the optimum value time of the opening time, the laser output is modulated when the opening time of the Q switch is modulated. Accordingly, the laser output from a light detector 18 as well as the output from a sine wave forming circuit 22 are processed by a control circuit 25 so as to judge the fluctuation in the opening time of the Q switch to be fedback to a pulse width modulating circuit, thereby enabling the opening time of the Q switch to be controlled at the optimum value.
