Abstract:
PURPOSE:To relax a restriction condition concerning a installation location than that of a type which uses only the light receiving quantity of reflected light. CONSTITUTION:A flood-lighting means 1 projects a light beam to a detecting area. The reflecting light of the light beam formed by an invader into the detecting area forms a light collective spot on the light receiving surface of a position sensor 22 consisting of PSD through an optical system for receiving light 21. The light collective spot moves on the light-receiving surface of the position sensor 22 in accordance with a distance to the invader 9. Besides, position signals I1 and I2 being current signals are outputted from the position sensor 22 in accordance with the position of the light collective spot. A distance calculation means 4 determines the distance to the invader 9 based on the position signals I1 and I2. An information judging means 4 outputs an information signal when the distance to the invader 9 is within a prescribed range scale.
