To provide a filter apparatus in which a filter element can only be exchanged and the case of a filter cartridge can be reused as it is without being scrapped.
This filter apparatus is constituted so that a fluid is made to flow in the filter cartridge 3 from an inflow port 4 of a head 2, pass through the filter element 17 and flow out of an outflow port 5 of the head 2. The cartridge 3 attached detachably to the head 2 is constituted so that the element 17 and a press ring 34 for pressing the element 17 are housed in the case 16 equipped with a nut 18 in the outer periphery and the element 17 is fixed in the case 16 by fastening the ring 34 to the case 16 by the nut 18 to be unfastened. The element 17 can be drawn out of the case 16 and scrapped by unfastening the nut 18 from the ring 34.
