Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow changing an operating frequency and a voltage enabling to operate at the minimum consumption power possible to achieve a processing capacity enough to perform an application. SOLUTION: An apparatus for information processing comprises MPUs 101 and 102, a memory control unit 103, dividers 111, 113, 115 and 120 whose frequency-division ratios are individually controlled to a functional block 106 and vary those operating frequencies. An application on the apparatus prepares information on operating frequencies optimum to each MPU 101 and 102 and the functional block 106. A control means for controlling the information for a plurality of applications is prepared to acquire the present operating status from the control means when initiating the applications and allocates the processing capacity needed by the applications to be initiated to each MPU 101 and 102 and the functional block 106 to vary those operating frequencies, and the same operation is performed when exiting the applications.
