When bus power is received from a personal computer 3 at the time of stand-by in an audio device 1, a USB microcomputer 11 is started. When data showing that a Net MD program is started in the personal computer 3 or Net MD data are received from the personal computer 3, start instruction data are transmitted to an MD unit 14 from the USB microcomputer 11. Thus, the MD unit 14 is started. When bus power is not received from the personal computer 3 after the MD unit 14 is started, power interruption instruction data are transmitted to the MD unit 14 from the USB microcomputer 11. An operation of the MD unit 14 is stopped and the operation of the USB microcomputer is stopped.
