Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device in which the sudden automatic change of the brightness of the screen that is offensive to the eyes of the user is avoided, by inputting an appropriate initial power to the lamp so as to shorten the time until the started lamp performs a stable operation. SOLUTION: In the light source device by an HID lamp having a dimming function, a power prescribed beforehand is inputted to the lamp in the prescribed period immediately after starting. And to the demand for switching over to a lower power before completing the prescribed period, switching over to the lower power is performed by an operation of decreasing the power gradually after the prescribed period has been completed.
