Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deposition and sticking of a solid material and efficiency obtain a cycloolefin by subjecting a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon to a specific heat treatment in the presence of a specific catalyst slurry under using hydrogen to carry out partial hydrogenation reaction. SOLUTION: (A) A monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon is subjected to partial hydrogenation reaction with (B) hydrogen while flowing (C) an acidic catalyst slurry composed of (i) a ruthenium catalyst, (ii) water and (iii) zinc sulfate in an apparatus at a temperature lower by >=20 deg.C than the temperature of the partial hydrogenation reaction by heating the outside of the apparatus by using a heat medium having higher temperature than that of the component C in the apparatus to provide the objective compound. The component A includes a (1-4C lower alkyl-substituted)benzene, toluene, xylene, or the like. The temperature of the partial hydrogenation reaction is preferably 50-250 deg.C, more preferably 100-200 deg.C. Piping, or the like, is exemplified as the apparatus for which heating from its outside is preferable.
