Abstract:
An injection molding apparatus (10) has a manifold (12) and a plurality of first (16) and second (44) adjustable manifold blocks. The second manifold blocks (44) are in fluid communication and are directly connected to a hot runner nozzle (56). The second manifold blocks (44) are coupled to the first manifold blocks (16) via connector devices (70). These connector devices (70) contain a melt channel (76) and allow the second manifold blocks (44) and therefore the hot runner nozzles (56) to be rotated relative to the first manifold blocks (16) around at least two axes. This allows the nozzles (56) to be positioned in front of mold gates (66) that are located at variable elevations with respect to the manifold (12).
