Abstract:
A money-changing machine allows users to change units of currency using different denominations in retail stores. Herein, the state information stored in a memory is changed between the normal state and the deficient state representing the deficiency in the predetermined denomination. The money-changing machine automatically calculates and dispenses the equivalent amount of currency equivalent to the input money or the amount of dummy currency equivalent to the input money. When the state information indicates the deficient state, the money-changing machine is able to additionally dispense the predetermined dummy currency (e.g. electronic-money points and shopping coupons) as money-changing benefits for users. Thus, it is possible to resolve the deficiency of small change in retail stores while promoting the use of the money-changing machine by users.
