Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder high speed tool steel capable of achieving long life of cutting tools, by excellent abrasion resistance and toughness.SOLUTION: There is provided a powder high speed tool steel by solidification molding a metallic powder consisting of, by mass%, C:1.30 to 2.30%, Si:0.1 to 1.0%, Mn:0.1 to 1.0%, Cr:3.0 to 5.0%, Mo:0.5 to 5.0%, W:5.0 to 20.0%, V:3.0 to 7.5% and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities by HIP or extrusion and conducting a heating treatment, having a maximum diameter of MC carbide of 3.5 to 10 μm and the maximum diameter of MC carbide satisfying 2.5 μm or less shown in Figure 1 in a hardened and tempered micro structure.
