Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method for conveniently recovering a titanium compound in high purity and in high yield from drainage containing a titanium compound, which is generated when a solid catalyst component for polymerizing olefin or a catalyst for polymerizing olefin is prepared.SOLUTION: A method for recovering a titanium compound from drainage containing a titanium compound which is generated when a solid catalyst component for polymerizing olefin or a catalyst for polymerizing olefin is prepared, comprises: a hydrolysis step of bringing drainage which contains the titanium compound into contact with water, and subjecting the titanium compound to hydrolysis treatment; a primary neutralization step of adding a neutralizer to a water phase of the hydrolyzed drainage so that pH of the water phase may become 1.5 or more and less than 2.5; a secondary neutralization step of adding a neutralizer to a treated liquid which has been subjected to the primary neutralization treatment so that pH of the liquid may become 2.5 or more; and thereby coagulating titanium oxide.SELECTED DRAWING: None
