Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer that is able to prevent a decrease in printing efficiency while avoiding damage to a thermal head, resulting from idle printing, even if an encoder is not mounted.SOLUTION: A thermal printer 100 comprises: a head temperature sensor 105 that measures a head temperature, which is a temperature of a thermal head 101; an estimating part 128 that obtains an estimated temperature of the thermal head 101 on the basis of printing history from a predetermined point in time; a comparison part 129 that compares the measured head temperature and the obtained estimated temperature; and a printing control part 127 that controls printing on the basis of the result of the comparison made by the comparison part 129.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
