Abstract:
To provide a fixing device that reduces a defect where input of a driving force to a gear of a pressure rotating body destabilizes a nip pressure at a nip part without largely increasing the size of the device, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device comprises: a housing 43 that holds bearings 42 such that a pressure roller 31 (pressure rotating body) can move in a direction to contact/separate from a fixing belt 21 (fixing rotating body); lever members 51 that are in contact with the bearings 42 and installed rotatably on support shafts 51a; pulling springs 52 (urging members) that urge the lever members 51 in a pressure contact direction; gears 65 that are installed on shaft parts 31a to rotate together with the pressure roller 31; and rotating members 53 that are provided with studs 54 rotatably holding first idler gears 64 (idler gears) meshing with the gears 65, and rotate on rotation center shafts 53a in the housing 43 in conjunction with the rotation of the lever members 51.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
