PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium processing device capable of suppressing occurrence of a failure due to a residual medium.SOLUTION: A medium processing device 1 having a conveyance path through which a medium is conveyed includes take-in means 5 for taking in the medium and control means 3 causing a failure recovery operation to be executed when a failure occurs during transportation of the medium.
