Abstract:
PURPOSE:To solve a call disabled state and to continue serial transfer, by switching to the 2nd transmission line through a switching means when the 1st transmission line is in the call disabled state. CONSTITUTION:A transmission and reception part 20 for a copying machine body and a transmission and reception part 30 for an attachment are provided with microcomputers 21 and 31 for data transfer which perform series-parallel conversion and parallel-series conversion of data respectively. Then when the 1st transmission line 41 for series transfer of data falls into a communication fault or disabled state, transmission line changeover switches 29 and 29A, and 39 and 39A are placed on contact sides 2 and at the transmission and reception part 20, a transmitting unit 27 and a receiving unit 28 are changed over to a stand- by transmitting unit 27A and a stand-by receiving unit 28A to switch the 1st transmission line 41 to the 2nd transmission line 41A. Similarly, transmitting and receiving units 37 and 38 are changed over to stand-by transmitting and receiving units 37A and 38A, and data transfer is restarted through the 2nd transmission line 41A.
