Abstract:
1,163,025. Lubricants. CASTROL Ltd. 1 April, 1968 [5 April, 1967], No. 15726/67. Heading C5F. Lubricating oils have added thereto a mixture of one or more bismuth dihydrocarbyl dithiophosphates and one or more zinc and/or cadmium dihydrocarbyl dithiophosphates. Each hydrocarbyl group may be alkyl, alkaryl, aryl or aralkyl and may be substituted by hydroxyl or ether groups or by one or more halogen atoms. The compositions may also contain alkaline earth metal sulphonates, a barium salt of a phosphosulphurized hydrocarbon, e.g. polyisobutylene, a polyisobutenyl succinimide, polymethacrylates and polyisobutylene.
