Japanese Patent JPS4819682
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1,186,659. Lubricant. LUBRIZOL CORP. 23 Aug., 1968 [20 Sept., 1967], No. 40489/68. Heading C5F. A lubricant composition comprises a major amount of a lubricating oil, a minor amount of at least one dispersant selected from the metal salts, amine salts, amides, imides, amidines and esters of substituted succinic acids having a substituent containing at least 50 aliphatic carbon atoms, and 0À01-5% by wt. of a demulsifier for water-in-oil emulsions. The dispersant is preferably a reaction product of a polyisobutylene-substituted succinic acid anhydride and a polyethylene polyamine and is present in amount 0À01-20% by wt. The base oil may be a mineral oil or a synthetic oil, e.g. dibutyl adipate, di-(2-ethylhexyl) sebacate and dilauryl azelate. The preferred demulsifiers are polyoxyalkylene polyols in particular block copolymers comprising a hydrophobic portion of groups and at least one hydrophilic portion of -CH 2 CH 2 O- groups. Other demulsifiers mentioned are alkylphenoxypoly- (ethyleneoxy) ethyl mono- and diesters of phosphoric acid, polyoxyethylated amines, amides and quaternary salts, and dodecylphenyl or nanophenyl polyethylene glycol ethers. Many optional additives are listed and those used in the examples are zinc dioctylphosphorodithioate, zinc di-n-hexyl-phosphorodithioate, a reaction product of Ba(OH) 2 , polypropylene, P 2 S 5 and sulphur; an overbased barium mohogony acid sulphonate, a copolymer of decylmethacrylate and diethylaminoethylacrylate, a chlorinated paraffin wax, dibutyltetrasulphide, sulphurized dipentene and oleylamide.
