PURPOSE: To input a Chinese character at a high speed, by registering in advance a Chinese character consisting of one Chinese character corresponding to a "Kana" (Japanese syllabary) character of an object to be converted, in a high speed converting table, and registering other Chinese characters in a dictionary, and outputting a Chinese character by selecting it from both of them.

CONSTITUTION: A chinese character consisting of one Chinese character corresponding to a "Kana" character of an object to be converted is registered in a high speed converting table, and other Chinese characters are regisrered 9 in a dictionary 11 and are stored in a floppy disk 14. When a character key and a function key of a keyboard 3 are operated, a CPU1 stores them in a document buffer 10 through a write part 6, and stores them in a floppy disk 13 through an I/O part 4. A display 2 displays a document of the document buffer 10. A selecting part 8 selects the high speed converting table 12 and the dictionary 11 from a "Kana" character-string which has extracted a string to be converted, executes the operation repeatedly until the Chinese character is inputted to the document buffer 10 immediately from the high speed converting table 12, and a desired character is outputted fom the dictionary 11, and inputs it to the document buffer 10. In this way, the Chinese character is inputted at a high speed.
