Abstract:
The present invention enables setting of a machining origin that does not cause variation in finished dimensions depending on the skill level of workers, further reduces the difference in production efficiency depending on the workers, and also ensures the safety of the workers. Provided is an automated grinding device for grinding and/or polishing a workpiece, the automated grinding device comprising: a rotary grindstone that grinds and/or polishes a workpiece; a first sensor that detects an attribute value of the workpiece; a second sensor that detects the grindstone diameter of the rotary grindstone; an instruction unit that instructs the rotary grindstone to rotate and move for grinding and/or polishing; and a position output unit that, on the basis of the attribute value of the workpiece, a first margin of error of the attribute value, the grindstone diameter, and a second margin of error of the grindstone diameter, generates positional information including a machining origin with respect to the workpiece by the rotary grindstone, and a safety margin, and outputs the positional information to the instruction unit.
