EXAMPLE: 4"-Deoxy-3",4"-di-dehydro-19-deformyldesmycosin.
USE: A remedial agent for sepsis, having antibacterial action against Gram-positive bacteria, erythromycin-resistant bacteria, etc.
PREPARATION: For example, a 19-deformyldesmycosin expressed by formula III (R7 represents H or hydroxyl; formula IV represents formula V) is protected at hydroxyl in the 2'-position, etc. with acetyl group, etc., then trifluoro- methanesulfonylated at hydroxyl in the 4"-position, reacted with tetrabutylammonium fluoride in an organic solvent to form a 3",4"-didehydro derivative and further subjected to elimination of protecting groups of hydroxyl in the 2'-position, etc., to afford the compound expressed by formula I.
