Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 is (halogensubstituted) benzyl or formula II (X is halogen, lower alkyl, etc.; n is 0W3); R2 is H (lower alkoxy-substitutd) alkyl, cycloalkyl, (halogen-substituted) phenyl, etc.; R3 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, (halogen-substituted) phenyl, thienyl, etc.].

EXAMPLE: 1-(2-Chlorophenyl)-2-(3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-methyl-6-(2-thienyl)-4(1H)- pyridinone.

USE: An active ingredient of agricultural and horticultural germicits having a wide antimicrobial spectrum on paddy riceand horticulture-related disease injuries, such as sheath blight of rice plant or downy mildew of cucumber, and preventive and remedial persistence with high safety for crops, warm-blooded animals, etc.

PREPARATION: For example, a compound expressed by formula III is reacted with an amine derivative expressed by formula IV in or without a solvent to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
