Abstract:
To provide an AC motor with no possibility of shortage in durable life of an antifriction bearing, by preventing electric erosion at the bearing, even when the motor is driven using an inverter unit.
An AC motor includes a rotating shaft 9 for a rotor 8, while the rotating shaft 9 is supported by antifriction bearings 4 and 5 that are lubricated with grease. The grease with dielectric breakdown voltage of 1V or below at 25°C is used for lubrication in the bearings 4 and 5. Then, electric erosion at the bearings 4 and 5 can be easily prevented, thereby preventing a factor for cost increase, caused by a shortened life of the bearings 4 and 5.
