Abstract:

To enhance or accelerate the reformation of epithelium or endodermis of tissue by administering a dehydroepiandrosterone derivative.

For example, when a dehydroepiandrosterone derivative (DHEA) which is a compound of the formula [X is H or a halogen; R1, R2 and R3 are each O, OH, SH, X, (thio)ester, (thio)ether, etc.] is administered to a patient preferably from a vein within 4-12 hours, preferably 4-6 hours from an accident to become a factor of biological or mechanical damage on the surface of epithelium or endodermis, the reformation of epithelium or endodermis of tissue such as reformation of epithelium in keratolysis caused by a burn is enhanced or accelerated. A dose of the DHEA derivative is 1-1,000mg/kg, preferably 2-200mg/kg.
