To provide an accessary for a camera which can remotely operate the camera from an optional direction and can be utilized also as a cable-type external operation device for the camera.

A receiver 20 includes a cable 24, a connector pin 21 connected to one end of the cable 24 and electrically connected to a camera 10, and a receiver body 30A connected to the other end of the cable 24 and having a photodiode 32 for receiving a radio signal for operating the camera 10. On the other hand, a transmitter 40A includes an infrared light emitting diode 43 for transmitting a radio signal to the receiver 20, an operation button 44 to be operated in order to transmit the radio signal, and a battery 45 for supply power to transmit the radio signal. The transmitter 40A is detachably attached to the receiver 20 or the receiver 20 is arranged so that the photodiode 32 is turned to a direction from which the radio signal is transmitted.
