Title:
ACTIVE CARBON FOR REFINING DRY CLEANING SOLVENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3519850
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active carbon suppressing adsorption of soap from a dry cleaning solvent and selectively adsorbing the soiling by using the active carbon having specific fine pores and being specific in the fine pore volume.
SOLUTION: A carbon starting material such as coal and palm shell coal is pulverized with a ring roller, etc., and compared. Next, this compacted product is cracked conforming to the particle size of the final product with a cracker and sieved. Besides, the product regulated in particle size is carbonized in an inactive atmosphere and activated in a steam atmosphere. The product having ≥0.19cc/cc fine pore volume of 10-300&angst fine pore diameter and having ≤0.04cc/cc fine pore volume of 20-500&angst fine pore diameter, when measured by a nitrogen adsorption method, is used as the active carbon for this purpose. This product suppresses soap adsorption performance without degrading the decoloring performance.
