Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic or dermatological preparation by including a dialkyl-substituted carboxylic acid compound(s) useful as an antibacterially, antifungally or antivirally active compound. SOLUTION: This preparation contains 0.005-50 (most pref. 0.5-3) wt.% of monoglycerol monoester and/or diglycerol monoester and/or triglycerol ester of a dialkyl-substituted carboxylic acid of the formula (R1 is a 1-12C alkyl; R2 is a 1-24C alkyl; R3 is a polyol residue; (n) is 0-24). The compound of the formula is prepared into a dandruff inhibitory shampoo for preventing/removing seborrheic symptoms, in particular, dandruff development, used as a cosmetic deodorant active component, used against spotted skin, slight acnes or acne propionic acid bacteria, and also useful for preventing the degradation of cosmetics and dermatological products due to the contamination with Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, filamentous fungi and virus.
