Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive equalizer to optimize an update amount control parameter μ which controls the degree of update size with regard to changes in a communication path and can reduce deterioration of BER characteristics.
SOLUTION: BER estimation processing by a BER estimation part 4 and update amount control parameter adjustment by an update amount control parameter adjusting part 5 are made to control a parameter μ which controls the degree of update size of a communication path impulse response by an adaptive algorithm operation part 2. Thus, under a circumstance in which the communication path condition is bad and greatly changes, μ is increased so as to follow the changes; under a circumstance in which the communication path condition changes very little, the μ is made small and deterioration of BER characteristics by due to unoptimized value of μ with regard to the changes in the communication path is reduced.
