Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an adaptive filter and the adaptive filter treating method in which the characteristic of the filter is improved so that the filter characteristic adaptive to an input signal is obtained and an error due to, e.g. correlation discrimination is suppressed.
CONSTITUTION: The filter is made up of a classification section 1a and an adaptive Y/C separate treatment section, the classification section 1a uses a block processing section 11 to process signal data into blocks, and a linear predict section 13 applies linear prediction to the block processed data by using a fixed filter coefficient from a ROM 12, a classification circuit 14 classifies the data, a linear prediction section 16 applies linear prediction to the data by using a filter coefficient corresponding to the classification of a ROM 15, and a class code from the classification circuit 17 is outputted to the adaptive Y/C separate treatment section. The adaptive Y/C separate treatment section provides an output of a linear prediction result by using the filter coefficient in response to the class code.
