To provide an advanced silent chain which has a combination of abrasion characteristics of a roller chain and NVH characteristics of a silent chain.

The advanced silent chain is provided with a plurality of first and second links 32, 34 and an outer link 22, each of which has a pair of openings. The advanced silent chain is also provided with a plurality of bushes 28 inserted to the openings of the links 32, 34 and a plurality of pins 30 inserted to the opening of the outer link 22 through the bush 28. An outer diameter surface 26 of the bush 28 is press-fitted on the inner diameter surface of the opening of the first link 32 so that relative motion cannot be generated between the outer diameter surface 26 of the bush 28 and the inner diameter surface 33 of the opening of the first link 32. Then an inner diameter of the opening of the second link 34 is larger than that of the first link 32 so that relative motion can be generated between the outer diameter surface 26 of the bush 28 and the inner diameter surface 33 of the opening of the second link 34, and an outer diameter surface of the pin 30 is press-fitted in the opening of the outer link 22.
