This air conditioner 1 comprises the plurality of outdoor units 2, 102, an indoor unit 4, a liquid refrigerant communication piping 6, gas refrigerant communication piping 7 and a control portion. The outdoor unit 2 has a compressor 21, an outdoor heat exchanger 23 and the accumulator 24. The indoor unit 4 has an indoor expansion valve 41 and an indoor heat exchanger 42. The control portion starts the other heat source unit in a stop state, when the quantity of refrigerant in the heat source unit in an operating state is judged to be excess, or implements refrigerant storing control for storing the refrigerant in the accumulator in the heat source unit excluding the first heat source unit in the operating state.
