Title:
ALUMINUM ALLOY FOR CASTING AND FORGING, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CASTING AND FORGING MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3687505
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aluminum alloy casting and forging material excellent in both of castability and forgeability and good in mechanical strength and toughness.
SOLUTION: This aluminum alloy for casting and forging has a composition containing 1.3 to 4.0% Mg, 0.2 to 1.0% Si, 0.1 to 0.3% Fe and one or more selected from 0.1 to 0.5%Mn, 0.05 to 0.5% Cr and 0.05 to 0.3% Zr and, if required, further containing one or more selected from 0.3 to 0.7% Cu, 0.01 to 0.2% Ti and 0.001 to 0.01% B and has a fine and uniform recrystallized structure with the average crystal grain size of ≤200 μm free from coase recrystallized grains. Therefore, anisotropy is not shown in the structure, and variation in strength is small. Further, by controlling the content of hydrogen to ≤0.30 cc/100 g, its toughness is improved.
