To obtain an aminoalkyd resin which can be used as a film-forming component of a coating material capable of forming a cured coating film excellent in nonslip properties by cocondensing a specific alkyd resin and an amino resin.
An aminoalkyd resin is obtd. by cocondensing an alkyd resin and an amino resin in a wt. ratio of (20:80)-(70:30) under reflux at 90-130°C for 15min to 6hr. The alkyd resin has a number average mol.wt. (Mn) of 2,000-7,000, a wt. average mol.wt. (Mw) of 5,000-150,000, and a ratio of Mw/Mn of 1.5-20 and is obtd. by reacting a dihydroxy compd. component contg. 5-40wt.% polycarbonate diol represented by the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are each a 2-9C alkylene or a 6-10C alicyclic alkylene; and (n) is 2-20) and 5-45wt.% 1,6-hexanediol with an aliph. acid component (e.g. succinic anhydride, adipic acid, or azelaic acid). The amino resin is obtd. by reacting urea, melamine, formaldehyde, and an alcohol.
