Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute strong welding by inserting a lid plate into the opening part of a container, etc., and performing the friction-stirr-welding along the circular butted surface of the container, etc.
SOLUTION: Into the circular opening part of the container 2 made of an aluminum alloy, the circular lid plate 1 of the same material as that of the container 2, is inserted. Along the circular butted surface of the opening edge of the container 2 and the peripheral edge of the lid plate 1, a tool having a friction pin and a surface pressing-down part, is pushed into with a prescribed pressing force while tilting the tool a little, and the tool is moved along the butted surface. Consequently, a closed circular weld line W including the toe of weld w1 which is solidified at the beginning, is formed by the fluidized aluminum. And, when the tool approaches again near the toe of weld w1, by gradually pulling up at least the friction pin of the tool, the overlap OL of the weld line W, which becomes shallow successively toward a toe of weld w2, is formed, and the toe of weld w2 whose surface is almost flat, is made. A hermetically sealed container 2, etc., which is obtained by this, are also included.
