To obtain antibacterial resin composition which has excellent antibacterial properties and is capable of being used in applications of a wide range by irradiation with radiation mainly containing a specified wavelength to a resin molding and performing antibacterial treatment.
Antibacterial treatment is performed by irradiation with radiation mainly containing wavelength selected from a range within 190-390nm to a resin molding. Therein, radiant exposure of radiation for the resin molding is ≥30KJ/m2. Thermoplastic resin and thermosetting resin are used as the resin molding. Continuity of antibacterial properties is furthermore increased by previously blending an antibacterial agent and a mildewproofing agent with the molding material of the molding at 0.01-10 pts.wt. for 100 pts.wt. resin as a desirable amount. A silver-based antifungus agent and the mildewproofing agent or the mixture of these agents and an inorganic compound such as zinc oxide is used as the antibacterial agent and the mildewproofing agent used herein. Zeolite/silver ion-based, borosilicate glass/silver oxide-based antibacterial agent and mildewproofing agent are used as the specially antibacterial agent and mildwproofing agent.
