PURPOSE: Cylindrical reformers of a specific structure are set on both sides of the feeder for formed ingredients to be fried and the coating feeder whereby the formed ingredients are always coated with a certain amount of the powder.
CONSTITUTION: Motors 8, 30, 35, 37 are driven to send crumbs in the hopper 33 for the coater 1 to the conveyer 29 at a uniform flow rate. The crumbs are fed through chute 32 on the conveyer 12 for coater 4 in the same width and thickness. The formed ingredients to be fried are coated with batter all over the surface, sent on the crumbs on the conveyer 12 and the crumbs are uniformly pressed to the ingredients by changing the form of the conveyer belt into a cylindrical cross section by the action of the guide rollers 13 and the cylinder-forming roller 19 in the cylinder reformer 19 on both sides of the conveyer 12. Thus, the ingredients to be fried 26 are uniformly coated with crumbs all over the surface. When the feed of the crumbs fluctuates, the counter weight 22 on the control lever 20 for the roller 19 is varied to apply a side pressure to the cylinder part in the conveyer 12 to enable the application of a uniform weight of crumbs to the ingredients in uniform thickness.
