Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the weaving unevenness caused by the unevenness of warp tension and to improve the quality of woven cloth by placing a tension- detecting roller on each warp path of plural beams, extending a swiveling arm between the detection roller and an opposite end and balancing the warp tension between the adjacent beams.
CONSTITUTION: Warps are drawn from plural beams circularly arranged side-by- side, e.g. the beams of a triaxial fabric loom or circular loom and fabric is woven with the warps while controlling the warp tension by the following method. When a tension difference is present between the warps of adjacent beam ends, a tension detection roller 59 arranged on the warp path of each beam is forced to forward the high-tension side end of the roller and a slide block 101 or 102 is shifted along a guide groove of a supporting arm 56 to press an end of a swiveling arm 105 swivelable around the center of the arm. The slide block 101 or 102 of the other tension detection roller 56 is shifted backward by this action to increase the warp tension. The difference of warp tensions applied to the adjacent tension-detection rollers 59, 59 is eliminated and the variation of the warp tension in each beam is smoothed by this process.
