Abstract:
PURPOSE:To keep the temperature of an irradiated lesion within a prescribed range by controlling the output of a light source when the temperature of the lesion starts deviates from the prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:The tip of a laser probe 1 is set at a target lesion with He-Ne laser generated from a He-Ne laser generator 12. A YAG laser generator 11 is then activated to irradiate the target tumor lesion with YAG laser generated from a sapphire chip 5 thereof. The temperature of the lesion is detected by a temperature sensor 31. When the temperature measured is above a prescribed range, a control means 18 regulates a power source 17 to stop or reduce the supply of power to an excitation lamp 16 of the YAG laser generator; on the other hand, when the temperature measured is below the prescribed range, the control means 18 regulates the power source 17 to start or increase the supply of power to the excitation lamp 16 of the YAG laser generator 11.
