Abstract:
To provide an apparatus and a method for casting magnesium alloys that allow for component analysis and evaluation, such as cleanliness evaluation, in melting/casting of magnesium alloys.SOLUTION: An apparatus for casting magnesium alloys comprises a melting furnace that holds a melt which a magnesium alloy is melted, a first casting chamber that accommodates a first metal mold for acquiring a cast article for analysis, a second casting chamber that accommodates a second metal mold for producing a product, a first melt transfer line that connects between the melting furnace and the first casting chamber, and a second melt transfer line that connects between the melting furnace and the second casting chamber. The melt is to be transferred by a pressure difference between the melting furnace and the first or second casting chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
