PURPOSE: To paste labels to containers over a wide range of working speed by wiping solvent to the rear edge of labels with a wick member and spraying adhesive to the front edge of labels with an atomizing nozzle at spray timing corresponding to the rotating position and the speed of vacuum drum with a timing mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: When film is cut, the front side of separated labels is sucked toward circumference of the vacuum drum 32, which continuously rotates to position with an adjustable prescribed speed. Labels 11 are carried to be in parallel setting relation with a solvent wiper assembly 34, which pastes solvent in a certain area or band or narrow belt on the exposed rear face of the label held on the vacuum drum. There is disposed an adhesive tank 96, which is equipped with a heater 97 appropriate for maintaining molten glue or adhesive therein. When solenoid coil is energized, a valve rod is pulled to open and adhesive is discharged. The adhesive and the solvent are attached to the front and rear portions, respectively, and label adhesion is completed by sticking to a can or bottle.
