To produce an apparatus and a method for producing a gas hydrate in which a gas hydrate concentration is enhanced by effectively cracking a block of a gas hydrate powder formed after mechanical dehydration.
This apparatus comprises a generator 11 for generating gas hydrate slurry (s) by bringing a source gas (g) into contact with water (w), a dehydration tower 12 to dehydrate the gas hydrate slurry (s) mechanically, and a fluidized-bed reactor 14 to bring a dehydrated gas hydrate (n) into contact with the source gas (g). The fluidized-bed reactor 14 is equipped with a gas jet nozzle 34 in a lower part, a distributor 53 arranged in an upper part of the nozzle 34, and at least one set of gas hydrate-cracking means 50 close to the distributor 50.
