To provide an apparatus for removing oil mist which exhibits sufficient washing effect even if oil is accumulated on an electrode plate, adjusts the amount of water to be used properly, reduces the cost needed for washing steps and reduces the wastewater and the environmental load.
The apparatus for removing oil mist is provided with an electrostatic precipitator 1, an air blowing device 3, a high-voltage generating device 2, a water jetting device 5, a washing liquid spraying device 6 as a washing means 4, and a control device 20. The apparatus conducts a water jet washing step in a first washing step and conducts the water jet washing step after conducting a washing liquid spraying step to spray the washing liquid in a misty state in a second washing step. The control device 20 is provided with a first judgement part 1D to judge the initiation of the first washing step and a second judgement part to judge the initiation of the second washing step.
