Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a recycleable recovered material, by treating a waste plastic containing a polyvinyl chloride properly.
SOLUTION: In a dehydrochlorinating apparatus 10, a waste plastic is heated to ≥200°C, hydrogen chloride is liberated from a polyvinyl chloride contained in the waste plastic to form a hydrogen chloride-containing gas and an organic solid material having a reduced chlorine content. A gas generated from the dehydrochlorinating apparatus 10 is cooled or controlled in temperature to ≤290°C by a trap device 20 to separate an additive contained as a plasticizer or its reaction product from the gas. The gas sent from the trap device 20 is brought into contact with water at ≤80°C in a hydrochloric acid absorbing apparatus 30 to absorb hydrogen chloride in the gas. An organic component in hydrochloric acid sent from the hydrochloric acid absorbing apparatus 30 is adsorbed on activated carbon by an activated carbon adsorption apparatus 40 to give hydrochloric acid containing a small amount of the dissolved organic component.
